the superstars of my life

SONG CLAN: my actual family...nuclear, extended, etc. family's family
dad: i've never actually called my dad "dad," except for maybe in the cards that i made him as a child. i've always called him "appa" which is the korean word for dad. we're very similar in personality, which frustrates my mom from time to time because we tend to gang up on her.

mom: again, i've never actually called my mom "mom," except for in the birthday/mother's day cards i made for her growing up. i've always called her "umma" which is the korean word for mom. although we're very different, she is the reason i am the person i am today. she instilled in me the morals and values that i currently uphold and has emulated what it means to be a strong, independent woman.

earne: my little brother is a beast both in size and stature and he could probably kill me just by sitting on me. however, he's also very friendly, caring, and loyal, and he'll always have your back.

aunt: i've never called my aunt "aunt" and i've only called her "gomo" once, which is the korean word for aunt. i've called her "bobby" my whole life and i don't know why. my aunt has always been more like an older sister to me than an aunt. we're practically the same person and she's always the one asking me about my relationships.

VEGAS HOTTIES: my close friends from ucsd who i can go to for anything and everything. no judgment...but if there is, it's probably well deserved :P they also happen to be the group i go to vegas with and we always end up having a ridiculously fun time

crystal: one of my best friends. whether i'm going through the worst breakup of my life, need advice, or just wanna chat because i can't fall asleep, she never fails to be there for me.

helen: she moved out to ohio with me so i wouldn't have to suffer here alone JK she moved to ohio to go to pharm school. she's so tiny and adorable, you can pick her up and put her in your pocket. she may actually fit.

REVELLE RESLIFE: the ridiculous people that made my senior year as a RA fun, rewarding, and slightly filled with drama :P they're the people i always make time to see when i go back to cali. regardless of how long it's been since we last saw or talked to each other, when i see them, we can always pick up from where we left off.

lintern: probably one of the smartest people i know, our friendship started my first year at UCSD and we've only gotten closer since then, despite the crazy things he's done (and probably will continue to do)

ucsd buddies

BUCKEYE COMMUNITY: the wonderful people (grad students in my program and full time staff) i've had the pleasure of meeting during my time here at ohio state. OH!

martin: my second year hall director who has a very nerdy, corny sense of humor. he's probably one of the funniest people i know and i think the fact that he doesn't know he's funny is part of the reason why i find him so hilarious.

leslie: a brand new hall director at ohio state. she stole my heart when she said "i think we could be really good friends." :)

james: current bf; he graduated from ucla and shares my hopes of moving back to california after we graduate. although he's two years older than i am, he tends to act like a 9-year old most of the time. and there is a difference between being child-ish and child-like.

danielle: once dreamt of being a professional ballerina, she's now in the hesa program with me, and is my partner in crime...at least when it comes to ganging up on james and giving him a hard time.

matt: one of the tallest friends i have and also from california. we torture ourselves by reminiscing about beaches, sunny weather, and in n' out

andy: the epitome of someone "outdoorsy." no matter how bad his day goes or how stressed out he is, his face always lights up when he talks about biking, mountain climbing, etc.

tara: she has the biggest obsession with board games. whenever i hang out with her i learn a brand new game. i've probably learned at least five new games so far

annabelle: a very quiet and shy, but also strong cohort member, who is a committed advocate of asian americans and other students of color
